Happy Belated Easter!

Happy Belated Easter! It’s been a long time since I’ve celebrated Easter (i.e. received large baskets full of treats from my parents), so the holiday’s really not that important to me.  If anything, it’s my least favorite day of the year.

Last Friday, Wayne Pacelle, the current President and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States, came to New Haven to promote his new book, entitled “The Bond: Our Kinship With Animals, Our Call to Defend Them.”  Early that morning, Pacelle spoke with the interns at the Yale Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics. Rather than situate the conversation in terms of animal rights or welfare, he lectured about our responsibility towards animals, arguing that “it’s more about us, than them.”
